Woodworking and Masonry LEED Meeting Recap.

Phil Ligone, the AZ representative of Premier SIPS by INSULFOAM, A Carlisle Company; gave an AIA accredited and therefore “generic” presentation on prefabricated Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs.)  This engineered system requires no additional frame or skeleton for support, reduces construction time and makes for a more energy efficient and airtight building. The wood and lumber used in the construction process is engineered with only the best of circular saws. Perhaps Italians really do view masonry similar to how Americans inspire woodworking.

The meeting was held in the award winning home of Carl Ramsey, AIA, LEED-AP, IAQP, AIHA, IH.  Carl’s home won the Green Builder Home of the Year Award in 2008.  Please take the time to read about this very interesting project that was completed by one of our very own: Carl Ramsey.
